Carpet (Gigantea) Flow???

Hey guys, ok so I would like you guys to help me hash out what is considered good flow for the Gigantea. So far in my research I have found:

1. Copious
2. Lots
3. Tons
4. Crap Loads
5. Too dirty to say here
6. Just short of ripping it off the rock

Lighting (1000w), fuge (24g external), and skimmer (large) aside (I'm good there). What have you guys had success flow wise with the gigantea species?

I just picked up a Tunze Multicontroller and 6100 today. In addtion to that I have a 6080 and 1800mag to my seaswirl. My gigantea now has enough flow to move it around completely, not just the tentacles as it was just before I picked up the multicontroller and 6100. I have it surging from back to front every 5 secs.

In a nutshell, I would like to know how much does your anemone move with the flow you guys have. I am sure there are going to be multiple answers, but if that has been successful for you then it is obvious that your flow is correct.

enough to keep the cap slightly moving, a little more or less is OK.

my giganteas get hit with surge tanks that lift and sometimes folds anemone with pretty good force, but then gets a rest while the surges are re-filling.

Thanks for the replys! About what timing interval do you guys use?

I had mine on a 4ish sec interval and he was happy for about 4-5 hours, now he's not so happy again so I moved it to a 6-8 sec interval so he gets more rest time.

I just have mine in a smaller tank (24x24x12) so for now I seem to be getting away with powerheads on a wavemaker, and the sump return on a SCWD (alternating the sump return left and right). I have 4 powerheads in the tank and then the two sump return outlets. I'm not sure what the overall water turnover is, but the flow is enough that the tentacles are constantly swaying like grass in the wind, and the alternating directions is enough to lift and fold the anemones for a few seconds about every minute or two.

Rod is the king of surge tanks, haha. I love watching videos of his setups (I think I've seen videos of his setups anyhow, or at least of previous setups). One day I totally need to get off my butt and build me some of those.

I have 2 Vortechs in my tank, back wall on opposite ends, flowing back to front. Tank is 48" X 36" X 20". One is mounted just above my gigantea, about 12" away. Flow is at max on both. . .I use the "bounce" method to create turbulence. Here's the relationship of the PH to the anemone:
