carpet nem id???

hello,

i saw this carpet nem at a lfs with a seriously high price tag today. would anyone be so kind as to give me an id on what kind of carpet it is?

it has reddish veruca (sp?), so i believe that eliminates it from being a haddoni.

it looks cool, but not cool enough to cost more then a half dozen gigs, imo. lol

thoughts?

Irregular tentacle length and pronounced vivid verrucae suggests mertensi to me. Don't think it's a gig.

And do they even know it's a mertensi or are they just hoping someone will pay that much for something different?

yah, over in orlando. they didn't have a clue what type it was. they just stated it was a "one of a kind" nem and slapped a $1,500 price tag on it. lol you can find nicer ones online for a small fraction of that price. heck, i saw a small one that was almost as nice come through petco for $35 under their assorted carpets awhile back. lol i remember seeing red spots and going, "wait a minute!"

i'll let you know if i run across a green.
