I have been offered a lovely 10cm catalaphyllia. I know they can be aggressive but wondered if anyone has any experience of keeping one in such a small tank. I have no fish but some lovely scollies, cynarina, and fungia. A few sps frags too.
Are we talking about it's skeleton being 10cm? Or is that with the polyp fully extended? I think either way, I wouldn't do it in a 10gal tank because even if that's fully extended it will grow big and sting everything in can reach. Perfect excuse for getting a bigger tank though.
Take a look at the 40b tank 36x18x17 this is the perfect size small tank for a reef. It's the best footprint of all when you don't want a large tank. Lots of room to do a rockscape and still have plenty of room for sand and sand dwellers like the elegance.
Here is the link to mine, tell me what you think. I've also got plenty of pictures of my two elegance. One is Aussie but still different than yours.
