Catching Dwarf Eel

A few months ago in the summer i bought a brown spotted snake moray from a local reefer. This is very similar to the golden dwarf moray eel. It is so rare that the picture of it on google images is from the guy i bought it from. Anyway i put him in my 60 gallon tank which is now a reef. After i put him in he ONLY comes out when the lights are out. He also ate one of my fish i think. During the day he just hides under a rock in the sand. The guy i bought it from said it would be fine to put him in a 10 gallon (he is really small).

How do you guys recommend i catch him? He never really comes out into the open, he is always between the rocks scavenging around. The reefer i purchased him from suggests i net him.

What do you guys think?

Get a long piece of pvc pipe, one end put a cap over it,drill small hole in cap, thread string through cap & pipe to other.Tie some bait to string place near eel.As it is going to bait pull string so bait goes in pipe all the way,so eel goes in then net to block off other side.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

I was also going to sat tear the tank apart but ovakil has a great idea. If i ever have an eel and need to catch it i will try this method.
