Caught between a rock and a cold place

A friend gave me all the live stock from his 150G in turn I purchased a 125G. I moved the livestock, sand and water to my place yesterday, filled the tank and poured in the sand then went to bed (all the livestock is in bins with powerheads for water movement). This morning I checked the water temp and it is 74.5 degrees. Can I start stalking the tank or do I need to wait until the heater brings up the temp?

you should have only uses a small amount of the old sand to seed some new stuff.... IME all your doing is transfering over nitrates/pohosphates ect. from the old tank

If the tubs of livestock are the same temp, it shouldn't matter. Otherwise wait till the DT warms up and acclimate the livestock to that temp. You may run into a few problems (could be serious, might not) if you dumped in the old sand, but it all depends on age and how much crud was in it. Get ready for some water changes if necessary. It may release some toxins (nitrates etc).
