Well, after a week of watching and planning, I finally made a grab for the small but growing mantis shrimp in my tank. I watched him dart into a farely isolated rock, so I pulled it out, and before I could even douse it with fresh water to drive him out he dropped off it into my bucket.
So now I have a 1.5" maroon Mantis Shrimp in a plastic container within my tank, available for trade. Anyone want him? Anyone got a piece of coral frag to trade for him? Unfortunately this is from my work tank, and I can't take pictures at work (security). He is distinctly maroon, almost red. Not sure of the type.
