Ok, yesterday after work I get my new 6-stage RO/DI out to run some water to cook my 30lbs of fiji that was due today. Well, to make a long story short the thing took forever to spit a drop and 12 hours later I had about 4 gallons( I used the first gallon to wash out my stuff). I forgot how long it took to break in a new RO.................CCCCRRRAAPPP!!!!!!!!

Today was my day off and the FedEx guy was 4 hours early(See: CCCCRRRAAPPP!!!).

So, I just went into "make it happen mode"...I added salt, heater, and mag 9.5 to my water and headed to the store. I went to one store and purchased some distilled product and went to another store and purhased some other distilled product.

When I got home I put a gallon of the first distilled product in the microwave and opened the other 1/5 gallon distilled product and drank some of that. I added the heated gallon to the mix and returned for another dose of the second distilled purchase and poped another gallon jug in the microwave. After, adding the second heated jug I was at 1.25 and 78 deg F(6 gallons of saltwater@ 78deg F from 4 gallons RO/DI @ 45 deg F in 1 hour). It was well mixed thanks to the Mag 9.5.

I was now ready to see my new rock for the first time. Wow, one rock 8" across with a tennis ball-sized hole in the middle and rubble consisted of two 1" rocks.

It's now 11pm on the East and I'm just now ready to add the last two gallons of RO/DI salt water to cover my cooking rocks buy 3". One positive; my remora is kicking some butt!!!

I used all of that first distilled product and about half of the other.

yeah it is, same coverage as PA prem Fiji but way better shapes...I asked for Nano/flat/smaller and that's what I got...30lbs for $100.

Exotic-Corals on Ebay...and I never read anything about them but 870 feedbacks @ 99.5% was good enough for me at 2.25lb!!!

I'll post some pics tomorrow of that cool cave rock and my cooking process.
