caulastrea compatibility

My neighbor is trimming his caulastreas (candy cane/trumpet corals) becuase they are shadowing some stuff that needs lights. I have heard that you can keep euphyillias right next to each other and they won't sting each other, but I was wandering wether it was the same way with caulastreas. He offered me frags of 3 different color strains and I am deciding where to put them.

I've been keeping caulastrea for a few years now, I would advise against keeping them close to the euphillya corals. I have seen a torch send out a 10" and zap a nice blue colony I had. Of course, ymmv others may chime in here with other opinions. If you are dead set on keeping these so close, test with the frag you like the least, just in case. In my incident, I actually lost a head, but I believe it's health was declining.

I may not have explained the situation well. I was using euphyllias as an example, because often times they can be next to each other. I wanted to know wether the caulastreas will work together, not caulastreas and euphyllias together.
