cauliflower coral problem....

today i got my second coral, its a cauliflower. since i have put it in, it started to droop to the left like it is tipping over. why could this be happening?
its not standing up strait like it was when i first put it in. since this is my second coral i dont know much about keeping it good and healthy but i didnt expect problems within the first 2 hours of putting it in. what can i do to make this stand up like it is supposed to and how should i be caring for this coral?

Did you aclimated it as suggested by the vendor? It may be nothing more than stress from shipping. If all of your parameters are okay and you aclimated it properly, I wouldn't worry about it. This is not a flame, but please consider reading up on the corals you want to buy before buying them. That way they have a better chance of survival and you will be happier knowing you didn't just waste $50.00. Good luck.

well i bought it at the store and it was a really good deal at $22. i only temp aclimated it and then placed it at the bottom of my aquarium as suggested.
should i just leave it how it is and dont move it or anything and hopefully tomorrow it will be standing up strait again?

also, is this a sps coral? what should i feed it? i dont have a calc or kalk reactor, just a 30g sump/fuge and etts reef devil delux skimmer. i would say i have good flow with a mag 9.5 return, maxi jet 900&1200 and some petco powerhead with 285gph..

I saw this ( below ) but i suggest turning lights off while he gets used to new tank.


it will often secrete a mucous coating during shipping to protect itself. To remove this slimy coating, just rinse it vigorously in seawater before placing in the aquarium.
 
it doesnt have any coating. i got it home from the pet store that it sat at for months in fifteen minutes. i temp aclimated it and then put it in. i did have the lights on today and i also move it again and since then it has drooped down a different way but it still looks awesome and the poylps look really open too. it just keeps drooping over

Is that a colt coral? I just got one myself, mine is doing awesome. I was alittle worried about some small things, but everyone on RC told me to relax =)
Colts are pretty hardy from what I learning and hearing!

should i take it off the rock that it came on? its just on a tiny piece of rock maybe tahts teh problem...

if i should take it off how should i go about doing that? just cut it? and how do i put it on a new rock so it stands up strait
 
Leave it alone - messing with it will just make it more stressed. Mine leans over every morning and stands up straight the rest of the day. Lots of soft corals like that whither and expand all the time. Just be patient. Good luck.

ok im jsut going to leave it then. it doesnt seem stress since all the polyps are extended and it looks wonderful except for the whole leaning over thing....
