CDMAS Newsletter

Hm.... I can't really see any harm in letting him put out an edition in his vision, no? As far as I know it was his initiative...

Hey Chris-

Never ask permission! :D

If you are really into the newsletter, just put one together the way you want it, and then show it around at a meeting for critiques. At least you can get the horse out of the gate that way.

Dan,

At this point, it seems like the "vision" for the newsletter is a tool for fundraising and vendor relations, but if that's not the case, I agree, no harm - just go do it!

Or, you could just ask me.

I see it as a tool for education, information dissemination, further group cohesion, and a potential for fundraising (advertising isn't evil; we win and the vendor wins).

Correct.....but if we keep it as the majority of the membership has expressed to you...AN ONLINE publication, advertising has little value. Nobody seems to support a "print version". The group seems to be receptive to a newletter for the members about our club. The newsletters value to me is an added item we can offer the members.

My original thought about an ad was a simple ad for our "CDMAS sponsors" and extra benifit we could pass along to those interested in supporting our club. Not something we are going to go door to door selling like a penny saver.

Be creative....produce an online version of "your vision" and see what the club thinks. Keeping the advertising aspect out dosen't seem like it should be a deal breaker to me.

"joe Convinces wife to let him upgrade the size of his tank" ...and I didn't have to get her drunk

You need to share this secret with the rest of the class young man.

If and when people want me to write something- my offer stands. Likewise for presentations/workshops. I'm willing to offer in whatever way I can. 200 words seems a bit short- but if it were for print I understand. It can be an ongoing thing- don't care either way.

Personally I think ALL of this needs to be taken off line and planning done F2F. This is the problem with written words and lack of interpersonal contact.

BTW- my trip to DC was the bomb. Chatted with Justin a lot, and brought back a cooler full of frags- some huge (25 in all)......

peace out....
