Great pics as usual Rev... Especially since I know you didn't use a tripod or anything!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing... Oh, and when are you going to let me post in the new club rooms on the site that shall remain unamed??? lol :D I saw you created them, but I couldn't post anything...

Thanks Dave and Randy, but the subjects I had to work woth deserve all the credit! Beautiful tanks!!!!

Beautiful work with the camera and very nice tanks, too :) One of these days I would like to come over and take a look at the real thing.

Dave - you seem to have relatively small amount of live rocks in the 125 wide judging from the picture. How much do you have? I have been contemplating on rearranging my tank to give more room for my fast growing SPS's. Do you mind telling me about your SPS tank set up?

Tomoko

I have no idea how much LR, but it's about 20 lbs. less now. My philosophy is minimal rock touching the bottom, so I use as much Tonga branch as possible and build off of that. Now everything is just "floating" and I get better circulation throughout. I think you can get by with less if you have good circulation. When I took it all apart yesterday, there really wasn't too much detritus for the ~2 years+ the tank's been setup. However, I do siphon it weekly into a 100 micron sock.

Oh, and Rev, I don't even recognize some of my own corals! Your macro shots are amazing! Must be that fancy lens.

Dave

Thanks, Dave. How much flow do you have? I recall that you have 250W MH bulbs over your tank. How far up off the water surface do you have them located?

Tomoko

Flow--I recently calculated that for somebody and think I came up with like 80X turnover, which puts me just shy of 10,000 gph total, incl. returns. I run 3 250W Reeflux 10k's on the new CV ballasts, which some claim are close to HQI in output. I don't disbelieve it; the fragged portions of my blue corals are branches that got fried when I made the switch :( They're like 10" off the water surface, but right now they're closer to 15 to allow me to re-aquascape.

Dave

Geez Dave, got a thing for Acans and Micros? :D Very nice tank...as always though.

Other Dave, what camera/lens are you using? I've been debating getting an actual macro lens lately versus the little screw-on caps I have...PM me or something.

excellent pictures and tanks! im glad i found some new buddies to harrass soon when i move up there :) see you all soon!<~~~steve
