hey guys title pretty much says it all im looking for a reef safe fish for a 40g breeder tank that will be stunning price is no issue.

Well, I would opt for a pair of candy basslets. I have one, should have gotten a pair!! Of course mine is in a much larger tank, but it is brilliantly colored, reef safe, and a great eater.

Where is your field? I might be stepping on it. Even though the price is not high and they are common, I would recommend a pair of flame hawks next time they have them on divers den. Are you looking for more rare or just a pretty fish with a cool personality.

Love the candy basslets, but I'm partial to the flame hawk pair I got from DD. Cool fish, lot's of personality.

when it comes to tanks that size i love wrasses. take your pick lol. a nice pair of flames would be sweet imo.

If price wasn't an issue, candy basslets.

I would not recommend a mystery wrasse. I have had two, they are jumpers and require a cover, also require a sand bed. They are not 100% reef safe from my experience, I could not keep a shrimp. They are often timid, one of mine was not shy after a couple week, the other was always shy (in a very non aggressive tank). Also they will outgrow a 40g tank. They do look amazing though.
