Hello,
Firstly I have a 36 bow that's been running in total for about 10 months but was moved just over a month ago and has been running continually since.
I've had a coral beauty in there for probably nine of the ten months and it's been great, no nipping and is as fat and healthy as can be (looks velvety up close, I love it).
My question is this, can I add a second coral beauty to the tank? I know those centro's of the cannot be kept together, but obviously some people have breeding pairs. Ideally I would like them to pair up (as I'm pretty sure the one in there now is well on her way to becoming a he if not completely already) but not looking to breed them.
I've read that addition of the same species is possible if a large on has been in a tank for a while, the added one is very small, and there is a lot of rockwork and/or space for the new arrival to hide in. I have roughly 55 pounds of rock in there so that shouldn't be an issue, the only thing I'm thinking is that a 36 bow is not enough room regardless of the amount of rockwork.
So, firstly, is there any possibility of adding another centropyge in any situation (i.e. not my setup but one with the right conditions, like the perfect tank setup... in this situation I'm assuming yes this is very possible) given the specifics above (ample room & rockwork and disparity in angelfish sage/size)? Or do/will they just fight no matter what?
And secondly, if is it possible, do you think it would be for me? I want absolute honesty and personal experiences would be most saught after.
I realize the chances are slim and I will absolutely not try this if you guys are no less than as certain as possible that it will work.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
