Hmmm...I just use standard 80-cent tiles from Home Depot. I'm not sure why yours is dissolving, but porcelain tiles tend to be more dense and tougher...you may want to try those.

Ceramic shouldn't dissolve. Like Jason, I use the cheap Home Depot tiles without a problem. I also use them to cut into little squares for cheap and easy frag mounts with no issues after years of being submerged.

that's odd. maybe i was just seeing bubbling from the ceramic?
 
That's possible. The unglazed side will often release air that was trapped in the pore structure of the ceramic.
 
ok, it worried me, i freaked out when i saw a mass of bubbles and small particles emanating from the tile. i thought it might have been because the tile was only .14 =p
