Chaeto getting think but not growing

I've had the refugium part of my sump setup for two months. Kessil H80 light running for 8hrs at night 3/4 intensity and set to grow setting.

Chaeto is green but super dense and doesn't seem to be getting any bigger.

Any tips on what I'm doing wrong?

i had a similar problem, added chaeto, it was green but not growing. I thought it was my light. I ended up getting rid of the light and chaeto to focus on my phosphate level which was 0.6! due to poor testing equipment i thought it was at 0, green algae told me otherwise. i changed to a hannah phosphate checker which gave me a true reading so i dosed along with WC and have now got my phosphate down to 0.07. I have since added a different bulb and new chaeto, in a week the chaeto is almost 3 times the size. i am still working on gettinh the phosphate down to 0.02. You seem to have a similar issue as myself, check your phospahte with a good testing kit and start working on it.

First no algae to speak of, had a small cyano outbreak but it's totally under control...for the moment :)

Here is a pic of my test results from today.i only have API tests for phosphate and nitrate right now. Looks like 0 for both right?

Any thoughts?

You might try dosing iron, but be cautious, too much iron will increase the algae growth in your display as well.
