Chaeto growth

Quick question if I had gotten a mesh filter sock, and put chaeto in with an led light in front of it would it survive,

Most likely. It doesn't need much light or flow, water quality seems to make a big difference. What's the risk? If it dies, just get more chaeto - I just threw out 20 gallons, so you can probably find it cheap or free.

Ya I have a bio cube and dont want to spend over 100 bucks for a refugium light and I tank media basket, when I could put it in mesh and use a submersible tube light figured a couple bucks.

I'd be more worried about it getting loose than dying. I thought it would be fine in a corner of my frag tank. But as I said, I just threw out 20 gallons, and that was from a 60 gallon tank.
