Chaeto

My chaeto sits in my sump and seems to have a bunch of crap in it that it looks like it collects. would it be ok to rinse in rodi water or would this kill it?

just shake it out in the fuge every now and then, Rinsing it prolly wouldn't hurt it but im not sure.

After I do a waterchange, I occasionally take my chaeto out and dunk it down in the bucket of old tank water that I just removed, and swish it around really good to clean it.

That sounds like a plan that is what I am going to do next water change
