The Chaetodon semilarvatus is a butterfly fish, therefore not really reefsafe, endemic to the Red Sea and the western coasts of the Indian Ocean. And we can say that it is the symbolic species of those tropical seas.

We love it and you?

Not really being a fish suitable for aquariums with corals, we would like to know if any of you have had the good fortune and the audacity to breed it.

I ordered a pair from Live, idiots did not pack carefully. Bodnded pair, smaller of the two was DOA and larger didn't eat for nearly 2 weeks
fast forward 5 months and the palm sized specimen is doing well, eats like a horse in my mixed reef. Truely a prized specimen!
