Chaetomorpha and incandescent lighting

Randy/Anyone,

In a post last year, Fluorecent lamps for Chaetomorpha may not be optimal, you indicated that you went back to incandescent lighting in your Chaetomorpha refugia after unsuccessfully trying flourescent bulbs.

Three questions:

1) What bulbs do you currently use for your Chaetomorpha (ie - have you stuck with your halogen bulbs)?

2) What photoperiod do you use (24hr, reverse, etc.)?

3) Do you at this time dose Iron as well for the macroalgae?

Same questions to anyone else - experience with incandescent versus flourescent with Chaetomorpha.

Thanks!!!

...and...what flow rate would you recommend for this (just the refugia area - not the main sump)?

I just used a normal power compact light(Sylvania 23 watts over a 10 g fuge). I turned it on for about 8 hrs, no chemicals were added. The razor and chaeto are doing quite well.

I use a 175 watt 4000K MH bulb (6h/day) and dose iron and the growth in both caulerpa and chaeto is unfreakinbelievable!!
