Does Chaetomorpha need to be collected every so often in the refugium so it does not release chemicals or is that only for Caulerpa?

Cheato is a good refugium algae and hasnt been reported to release toxic chemicals like those from caulerpa. It does need to be pruned every so often for nutrient removal.
