Chalice Placement

I'm still kind of new with chalices and I'm curious what would be the best placement. Right now its on a frag rack midway up the tank. Its growing good but the color is drab and I want to see if in the right light and flow it will color up or not. Right now the flow turnover is 45x and I have a 6 bulb t5ho.

I know its fine for growth. I'm just wondering what the best placement would be to get the best colors out of it.

i usually have my chalices under about 80-100 par. after 140 they will start to bleach on me.

mine love being about 1/4 the way up(in a 180) on a rock directly under my 250W 20k, with high flow.

Got mine on the sand bed AND under overhangs. Best color that way.

Well I placed it in the sandbed dead center in the tank. I will post pictures if it starts to color up better than the pale look it has now.

Keep my hollywood stunner quarter way up on rock under an overhang and the rest in the sandbed. Growth is great with the stunner and I am running 2 d120 led lighting fixtures

I'm getting good growth from it. I just don't like that its a pale blue color. I got it from a local guy with a little piece of meat on it. It has grown quite a bit(at least I think so) on the frag rack but hasn't colored up.

Heres a pic from back in october. If it had a eye I didn't see it.

I keep mine all the way to the bottom of the tank. I've noticed that my 3g mummy eye, pink boobies and flaming bugatti all color up and grow a little better under a slightly shaded area

I am a little confused by your question. I would like it to look good in the tank. The one I had shown earlier in the post has turned a pale blue, but I also have another one that I traded for recently that looks washed out.
