Chalice problems...

guys how do you keep your chalices alive? Ive had numerous mini-colonies and frags yet everyone died. They died while everything else in the tank was thriving too, which seems to frustrate me. I've stopped buying these wonderful things because i just dont have sucess keeping them. ive tried low and in the shade medium high in the shade medium placement medium light low placement medium light. Whats the secret? and the issue was not my trace element levels. I was checking and monitoring those constantly

could be a pest problem. have you tried dipping them?

I forgot to mention i've restarted the tank and gotten rid of everything twice but still no luck. Im clearly missing something important just because ive had them in two different tanks. They live for a while just do not last. ive had them under t5 in one tank and metal hailides in another
