Chalk Bass - cloudy eye

i bought a chalk bass today, acclimated and put it in my tank. after a little while i got a good look at him and one of his eyes is a little bubbled out and is cloudy. also my peppermint shrimp will not leave him alone. i've never seen my peppermint try to clean any other fish. any ideas?

Is his eye bulging from the socket? or 'puffing' out a bit?

Start by looking up popeye. Esp. if it's unilaterial

If you used a net to move him or maybe just by transporting him he could have damaged his eye a bit.

When ever I have pop eye, minor cases, I just add Zoe to the frozen food and it clears up in a week or so.

he died the next day. i bought 2 other fish at the same time and they're fine. store gave me a refund.
