You guys take amazing pictures!!!

Justin- very cool looking chalice. I don't think I have ever seen one quite like it. Very nice.

Thanks! Me neither :) But John has well over 10 or so for VERY cheap prices, especially considering it's a chalice. Not much of an echinopora guy, but this was too sweet to pass up and is a good compliment to my 'sandollar' echino:)

Had a talk with him about that the day I picked it up, it came from a guy that was told that's what it was but couldnt provide lineage on it. John also has a large colony of the Tyree blue in the store as well that he's had for a handful of years and Ive seen other hobbyists' and they dont seem to develop the purple eyes and rim that this one develops. So who knows, it may or may not be :)

I kinda hope it isnt :D Then the worst that could happen is I picked up a Tyree blue chalice on trade

I can live with that :D

I posted this a week or so ago but got a shot today with his "eyes" open. Thought it was a cool shot. This is taken under T5 only (actinic and fiji purple only).

That is an amazing piece!

But what I personally think is even more amazing is that your able to capture that shot under only T5 actinic and the Fiji, Ive tried a lot of cameras and have never had close to true colors like that even with a 50/50 split everything still shows up pretty blue.

Nice job :)

Now that you guys mention it I did actually see this chalice at YR. I remember commenting on it to Brandon but I was quickly distracted with a crazy awesome acan colony in the $30 section. Prices have been amazing up there lately!!

Craig- that chalice is very cool! Great picture.

Thanks! They usually don't turn out too well for me either. There was a lot of indirect light in the room, so maybe that had something to do with it? Not sure. To be exact, there were 4 bulbs on (Aquablue Special, 2 Blue+, and a Fiji Purple).
