I am just starting to frag it now. I let me grow for awhile. It has that nice bright red under high light and then when i move it lower it gets the blue rim you see in this pic. It is a pretty good grower. Any advice on fragging this? I dont know alot about fragging this type of coral. Thanks

Hey sprtsguy, nice piece. With one that size simply cuting into a four piece pie shape would give you some nice frags that would bounce back pretty quickly. Any smaller and you'll just want to try and at least get a mouth within the piece. This will also allow a quicker healing time, as it will still be able to physically injest nutrients rather than just depending on photosynthesis.

Typically with large pieces, you'll cut a ring around the center, then take that doughnut ring and cut it ilike you would a pizza/pie (will end up with hexagon shapes). They'll fill out and round up within a few months.

Good luck! :)

sportsgirl is my buddy and the pic is dead on. I hope he spares a small bit for me. Someone older is going to have to explane the joke to him though

A nice one for sure, but im more interested in the camera you used sportsguy. a good photo makes all the difference in the world. Nice shot!

anyone wanna frag some of their chalices for me? ;)

Powerouttages here killed a lot of peoples tanks, so its pretty scarce right now to try and restock.
