Couple of others coming along nicely.

The green rim is starting to develop brighter coloration on this piece, coupled with the yellow/gold highlights throughout the body and the pink eyes. Perhaps some day it can become the Golden Watermelon Chalice :D

Another old school piece I've had for almost 2 years. It browned out but finally getting it's amazing colors back.

I don't know whether it is the same colony from which the "Stargazer" watermelon originated. It certainly looks a lot like it. I'm pretty certain that it is the colony that Coraldiva got her frag from that caused some ruffled feathers a few pages back. The photograph that Coraldiva posted was edited but I'm 99.9% positive that it was this colony.

Either way, you can purchase a frag of this colony, which is very very nice, from oceaninabox for about 75.00.

i talked to the guy diffrent source(his is an indo Chalice) cherry corals is much closer but not quite the same stargazers eyes are diffrent from both

Not having seen all of them side by side or in person it would be difficult for me to make such subtle comparisons. Either way, OIB's dino skin watermelon looks like one very nice chalice. I'm happy to add it to my collection.

Here is Brians...

Its hard to believe they were collected in different places. I have approx. 10 different watermelon chalices and I see the difference in all of them... These two look the same to me...

Although, if they are the same, the LE lineage would only apply to Brians piece as his was given the limited status... Id be intrested to find out if they came from the same place though...

Shouldnt be that hard to believe it may be the same coral morph albeit from different collection points... Shouldnt really matter either, sweet looking chalice. Perfect example:
http://www.reeffarmers.com/limitedacanthastreaechinata.htm

Wild colonies of the exact same morph coming in by the droves last year, still trickling in as we speak..just how it goes..It was probably the sweetest echinata around back in '04 but very accessable now..Got mine late in '06. Ya my parade was rained on when they flooded the market with them later the next year, but I dont think of that stuff when I look at, I just see a sweet gem of a coral in my posession.. That is what matters, right?
