I bought a WYSIWYG chalice a month ago online (it had very intense looking blues/reds)...but the flesh doesn't look "puffy" (up to this day in my tank) like all those shown here. But I can see the mouths open and close so I guess it is alive.
In my tank, the chalice is basically white and light-brownish red. I know that chalices gain their color over time...but how long can it take?
I have a 12g Nano cube with 96-watts PC. (2x 50/50 10k/71 and 2x Actinic).
Sassafrass those are awesome pictures. It looks like a set of eyeballs. Maybe like a flounder. Thanks for sharing your pics and thats one beautiful coral.
Clint, I'm not sure where the MC colony came from either. My frag of Ocean In A Box's colony arrived today. All I can say is that I don't care what it is. This is one fantastic looking chalice.
Ocean in a Box sells the Ocean in a box chalice. They call it Dino Skin Chalice. It's not on the website though. I think they removed after the last two frags were sold Saturday. Hopefully they are growing out some more and will offer it again.
FWIW, when I emailed them they told me the MC is Aussie not Indo.
Thanks Clint. Yep, I agree. This is one awsome hobby.
