I usually go by the amount of colors, and the contrast of colors.
Typically I like it to be at least 2 or 3 very defined colors. It think it's the contrast that really makes them POP.

kreeger1- thanks for chiming in; can you please post them side by side in one pic? i'm very interested in seeing 2 frags grown out side by side in the same lighting... that would be the only true way to determine. i would venture to guess it takes some time- similar to how my orange sherbet and jayda's looks like twice digested crap... but in mpoletti's tank, for example, they look super insane. i'm guessing you probably had one and just received the other, right?

click on the video if you have the proper plug-in. compare that to sdguy's mother colony and as far as the frags go, i guess it will just take time. keep in mind that vivid uses 1000w 20k bulbs too. in the video, the very bright outer portion of the mother colony seems like the actual coloration i saw when i was there. again, that can be subjective, so anyone local w/ experience... please share

I don't think they are the same, but that is just my opinion. The vivid now sells for $299 for 1/2" piece.

Thanks! The MaCaw's colours are extremely sensitive to lighting. The more light it gets, the more gold it gets!

I have a tough time getting the vibrant pink of the last picture to really be represented properly in a photograph. It looks much more impressive in person. Nearly as bright (without the metallic tint) as my Bazooka Joe. Which by the way grows slower than any other coral I own, hands down.

hey junior did you ever cut your orange chalice??? im still waiting on the pics on the other site... lmk when you can send a pic... thanks and i still havent hooked up the profilux controller..=(
