Changed flow.. sps mad?

Hey all. I just recently went from a koralia#2 / #3 to a MP10. I still have a Koralia #2 / a tiny pump along the back side of the tank so no debris settles on my BB.

Ever since i put the MP10 in my rainbow monti which has been VERY happy has suddenly closed all its polyps. Its not getting blasted with flow, if anything i think there is a little less flow on it now.

I also have a carolinia which has been doing amazing up till this point. I put the MP10 in 2 nights ago and since it has also had no polyps open and looks as if its starting to RTN

Params are stable

NO3 = 0 (api)
PO4 = 0 (hanna)
Alk = 7 and having no swings
Ca = 440
Mg = 1450
Salinity 1.025 (calibrated refractometer)
Temp 78-80 constintly

Im not dosing anything whatsoever, no reactors / media.

This is the ONLY thing ive changed and im lost why it would happen all of the sudden. Darn mp10 i thought you would do wonders for me haha.

Any ideas?

When switching out the pumps you could have introduced some type of chemical irritant via your hands or even on the mp10 itself. Try running carbon, if youre not already, if this is a possibility. They could just be stressed from the sudden change in flow. Wait a couple more days and reassess

If your checking your alk with a test kit make sure its right. I know someone who thought their alk was 7 and stable but really it was 6 and thats why everything was rtning.

Anytime you change your flow, speed or direction, corals react. Best to start with slower flow rate then ramp up.

I have one acro in the middle of my tank that gets a little recession in this one area every time I clean one particular koralia in my tank. After a couple weeks the flesh grows back. Has happened the last three times I cleaned the pump so I'm pretty convinced that is what it is so I dont worry about it anymore.

Im pretty sure its dead on. Testing with api / salifert I will check again today

Its somewhere in the middle right now. Ill lower it down a little more and see if that helps for the next week.
