Changing location of MP40 Vortech Pump

Want to move my mp40 to a different location in the tank... How the hell do I get this thing off the glass? lol

Gently.

I usually start by removing the dry side first, which should come off easily if it isn't caked with saltcreep. Then the wetside should be easy to remove as well with no magnet there. You could always put a razor behind the wetside (with the dry side removed) to try to peel it off the glass, or cut away any coralline that is holding it in place.

I take it you're not cleaning them every 4-6 months?

I haven't cleaned it ever. But tank has only been running since May 23.

My issue seems be with the sticky part of the dry side. Like the piece attached to the tank to make it stick.

So the shim on the dry side is stuck. I'd still use a razor blade to try to gently pry it away.

There is no adhesive, so nothing "sticks" as far as I've ever seen (i've owned 3 MP10s and currently own 2 MP40QDs). But I could see where that rubber spacer might get stuck over time. The key would be to break the seal underneath it gently with as flat of a blade as possible, and keep the blade as parallel to the glass as possible.

Ok will do. Thank you for the help. I'll let you know how it goes lol.
