so my girlfriend went to a fish store today
and told me she saw a black percula clown
for only 20 dollers!!! when i heard i was really
suprised. im going on friday to check it out
and if its in good condition im buying it
forsure=)

my question is how much are black percula
regularly at other stores?? becasue when i
heard it was for 20 i couldnt believe it.
at my shop we rarely get it and if we do its like 50...
without discount.

if i do get it ill have pictures up

and how do you add a picture on the left??

20 dollars would be a steal, as this would be the first black percula ever to be discovered.

It's most likely a black A. Polymnus or A. Ocellaris, but there are a few other species I've seen mislabelled as Black Percula as well.

Yeah, I am quite sure that is not a Black Percula. Chances are its a B&W A. Ocellaris, as that is the price that they can sometimes go for around here for me...

haha, I love a good smart remark in the morning :bum:

I paid $40 for my B&W, but that was almost 2 years ago, seems like they're getting more common

A $20 clown labeled as a "black percula" is most likely a Black Saddleback (A. polymnus).

+1

yes i agree, whenever they do that.. its usually a black saddleback.. sorry pal...

Yep, they got me with the mislabeled saddleback once. I had to take it back the next day since I was trying to pair with my orange ocellaris. Eventually I found a true black osc. from Tyler in San Jose. GL.

I saw some clowns labeled as black perculas for $20 at QT aquarium but they didn't look right. Different body shape from my Ocellaris, so I'm guessing it's a saddleback.

Here are my "black perculas". This is about as black of a true percula (Amphiprion Percula) as you will find. This is commonly known as the "onyx" variant of true percula.

If you can find one of these for $20, then that would be a very good buy.

wow nice mature colors on that pair.

anyway, its probably a black ocellaris as that is commonly confused with a percula. if it is a black saddle back you can see thw difference in the body shape.
