I have three 165w full spectrum dimmable black boxes over my 150, I think they're about 16" above the surface of the water but I'll have to check when I get home. I've had luck growing all sorts of softies, the three or four lps, and more than enough sps to call it successful. Now there are a handful of things that didn't have as nice a color as the would under halides or t5s and the growth was slower but the color was still nice and they still were growing even if it wasn't at the same rate. You have to play with them a bit more to find the sweet spot but when you do get it dialed in you should be happy with the results. Oh, also, unless you're buying corals from an LED run system start the coral on the bottom and move it up slowly, I learned the hard way at the expense of a couple of monti caps that they can bleach in a matter of a couple of days.
