Cheap place to buy snails?

Looking for a cheap place to buy cleanup snails online, im on the east coast.

My LFS has been raising their prices and $2 for a tiny nas snail is just too much.

EBAY! there is a specific vendor on ebay that sells nessarius snails for dirt cheap. but they are only available certain times of the year when they go out and collect them. when i ended up buying mine from them i paid about 12 cents a snail. that was also shipped.

I recommend some reading. Unless you're getting the correct thing (and for that price I almost GUARANTEE YOU that you aren't), a potentially bad suggestion.

the LFS is question has a pretty good discount if you buy in bulk. Their nass are $.99 for the small, and $2.99 for the large, but if you get 12-24 they aren't so bad.

I'm thinking of putting together a group buy from reefcleaners.org for the Susquehanna Reef Club, and you are more than welcome to jump in.

I was recently in the same market. Once you added in the shipping charges for any online site, it wasn't worth it to me. I just bought mine at the LFS. But I have a small tank and didn't need 30 of them. So maybe your bulk buying will save you money. Even at $2/nass, I only need a few. So what's the money lost? Can't even buy a hotdog with that. lol

Up here the good Tongan nassarius go for ~$6 each. Even lowly astreas are ~$2 each. That adds up quickly if you're outfitting a decent sized tank.

vey interesting read. although that is not the snails i get from this certain person. i do see alot of these going around on ebay. the person i buy from sell the real thing. she just does so at certain times of the year and only has a limited number she sells.
