cheap way to remove phosphate???

HEy guys
I have a new 65g tank cycling right now....i have my phosphates at 0.5-1.0 with salifert test kit

anyways....whats the best and cheapest way to remove phosphates?
Do i need those reactor things....the only thing i could find on marinedepot was calcium reactors....didnt see any phosphate reactors...is that the same thing??? anyways...those things are $150 and i cant afford that rightnow......any other cheap way of doing it....

I would keep the tank in the dark, pull the rocks out and dunk and swish them one by one in fresh water once a week. Guaranteed to reduce your phosphates and cheap.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure this will make your cycle faster.
 
In my opinion..I would be patient it is a virtue in this hobby. Are you using RODI water? That is definately going to make a HUGE difference. I work at LFS when we pick up new accounts its really amazing to watch what RODI water does for keeping saltwater.
 
yup i got the ro/di unit from ebay
works pretty good but i need to get the meter...i forgot what its called again....it shows how pure the water is
 
You dont need an expensive reactor. Just get a Phosban Reactor , a small powerhead like a Maxi-jet 400, some 1/2" vinyl tubing and of course some Phosban to fill the reactor with.

I agree with everyone else. Use Ro/DI water and wait some time if you are cycling before you buy anything.
