I'm in the market for a new GPS for my truck... A "car" GPS.
...Which means that I'll be selling my trusted Magellan Meridian Gold handheld.
This particular GPS uses two AA batteries, has a "bird's eye" view only, and a black and white screen that's rather large and nicely backlit. I also have it loaded up with all of the roads in the SouthEast US, and it has the ability to "route" you to an address if you choose to do so - although the process is uncomfortably complicated and a little outdated (which is why I want a new one).
This GPS, however, does have several "menu" screens that would do a nice job of showing you exactly what you're looking for... Then you could mark a spot and return to it later.
The strongpoint of this particular GPS is it's WAAS accuracy (within about 15 feet) and it's ability to see satellites when other, lesser units can't (it seems nicely impervious to tree cover, cloud cover, etc.), even though it's only a simple handheld.
I have a suction-cup cradle with a power cord, too, that would enable you to stick it to your boat's dash and power the unit from the boat's power. When you do this, it bypasses the batteries, which kick in when you remove the unit from it's cradle.
Excellent, "like new" condition. Weatherproof, in a rubberized housing that floats if you drop it overboard. Here's an article and picture:
