Cheato Lighting?

Just picked some Chaeto up from a local reefer and threw it in my fuge. Pods love this stuff right? Do they eat it or just hide in it?

I'm running a compact flourescent spot light from home depot. (I think its day light 5100K--said so on the back of the package). Its like a 16W or something.. WORKS EXCELLENT. I just started and threw 2 balls in there an in 1 week it has doubled in size.. Another week or so and I will have to start harvesting. Came in a 2 pack for like 20 bucks or less.

Do you run your refug opposite the display tank?
Currently looking for a better bulb. I think plants need a dark period the same way corals do. Natural process.

I use an el-cheapo flourescent light strip from an old All Glass Hood. With a 6700k bulb you will get great plant growth and nearly no heat at all, even with your cabinet doors closed.

anybody have any experience with which LEDs grow cheato the best?

I am sure 65000K spectrum in LEDs would do you just fine too, but why even consider LEDs? Seems too expensive when something super cheap works very well.

I'd have to agree with using the cheap spiral CF. I've tried a few LED strip lights that a friend gave me, and they didn't give me the growth that the CF did.
