Cheato turning white

I am new to reefing (4months). I added cheato to my hang on refugium about 10 days ago. I have been running the light on the refugium 24 hours a day. Some of my cheato ( a couple of small patches) appears to be tuurning white. Am I burning it leaving the light on all the time?

Just like any other photosynthetic life form, it needs a light cycle. I.E. around 12 hours on, 12 hours off.

Mine does very well running the sump light 24/7

I also light mine 24/7. Are you flipping your cheato ball around? I flip my two balls every two days. Other things to consider might be the light they are getting as well as there may just not be enough nutrients in your aquarium to sustain it at the moment.

It's probably your tank being so new. I'm 6 months in on mine and am just now getting it to grow. T
