Tell me what you think......

very nice! make sure to keep it in lower light, in the shade if possible, in order to acclimate it to your lighting

That is a nice ric. I have had some troubles in the past. I have some plain bright green ones right now, but I lost an orange due to over lighting.

Beautiful stunning rics!

Marko9- is there a sign to tell if a ric is experiencing too much light? I shifted one of my rocks no more than an inch but have an orange that covers up its mouth in the day but relaxes at night. its driving me nuts but it seems to be healthy and strong

Thanks everyone! I just can't wait for the baby one to open up some more.

I also fed it some brine shrimp and when it closed up to swallow it I noticed the foot was spreading out to form a third ric.

Can't Wait!!!!

What makes yumas lose color? I have a few that had more contrast when I bought them...one was greenish with pink outer skirt, and the others were purple with orange tips. now they are pretty much orange/brown, but they are large. Sometimes when they are moderately deflated, the color kinda comes back (especially when it's just actinics.) but still not like when I bought them. Is it just the nutrient load? Iodine?

I have one 250w 10000k ushio hqi over one half of a 55 gal. 4' long. So the end that has the shrooms is just receives incidental lighting and one actinic t5. I feed cyclopeeze, phytofeast, various frozen cubes. I dose with dowflake and arm and hammer (from the chemistry forum.) I also dose ESV mg. I just started Kent iodine. I change 5 - 20 percent from weekly- every 3 weeks. I'm too busy to be consistent. I use store bought seawater. One thing I've been working on is getting my alkalinity to increase. It's at 2.5 dKh (I think). But Ca is @ 420.

Thanks drummereef!

cla337 feedings are fine... but sounds like a lighting issue. Mine seem to do best under 5050 daylight.

It splits off it's foot for yuma mushrooms. Or for the impatient ones, you can cut it into pieces and wait for them to heal.

The foot expands off to one side. Then after the baby forms and seperates from the foot it kinda retracts back under it's base.
