Thay are some kind of "snowflake" something or other, I can't remember what they are called.
Why do you say they look stressed? Those polyps are about the size of a quarter, and growing like weeds.

It just looksl ike they came from a very high light system which some folks in the zoo forum thinks a certain high light spectrum brings out the sparkles.. just my guess!

The white coat. They really dont look like they supposed to be that color, just my 2 cents. Do you dip?? I have some awesome stuff u can test out. My PPE's looked that same way when I got them. I dipped them one time and that white stuff just peeled right off.

This was what they looked like when I changed from 175W MH/ 2x24W Actinic, to a 250W MH/2x65W Actinic.
First pick is a couple of days after new lights, and second pick is after a couple of weeks. I didn't realize I posted the same colony twice.

Notice how the colors started to pop out now? Just aclimating to the new lights.

High light often makes them "stardust," especially palys. Here's a great article on the speckles that often appear:

Thanks you so much for that, I was looking for something like that. In other words its like giving your polyps a sun burn. I have pealed this stuff off my PPE's...

You can't peel this stuff off. That is the coloring of the polyp. It would be like rubbing the purple off of a PPE.
You are welcome to stop by and check them out in person.
If I was to "rub" the polyp, it will look the same when I am done, except it will be ****ed off and closed. LOL.
The second of the two pictures shows true colors. They just started to glow under the new lights, and as you can see, they are on the bed of my tank. So they aren't too close to the lights either.

Hexed, im sorry for accusing u of not putting sun block on your polyps. It just looks so much like mine did and it was crazy, becuase I had no idea what kind my polyps were till I dipped them and.....nevermind, I dont mean to sidetrack your thread here, u do have some beautiful stuff either way...LMK, when that frag is ready, Thanks brah!

I think it finally struck me. There is a kind of fungus that can make white dots on zoos but when I have seen it it isnt quite across the polyp- they usually close up and theres whit stuff on the stalks.

Lugols\fw dips or according to zoaid furan 2? i think? can ease off the fungus so maybe thats what you had Don Lino? Zoa pox i think they call it

I dont know about sunblock on a zoo but I think when you frag the zoo that started this thread you should give your brother one. Or at least sell it to him " cheap".

I got the ones that I started this post with from Extreme Corals .com.
The others mainly came from RC members, from buying frag packs and such.
