seriously, +1 on the black background, it will hide all the wires and you won't believe how your corals and tank will pop against the black. Nice tank none-the-less!
the plus i see with having no background is that algae will show up more on a colored background. i cant scrape it if it has a paper background and im not sure painting is a wise decision because of everything is in it.
any suggestions?
The background goes on the outside of the glass. You can either tape the black background to outside, paint it black with paint (if you can reach back there) or make a removable black background out of a black plastic sheet.
Looks good! I plan on using Coroplast for my background. It's basically corrugated plastic sheet. Comes in a variety of colors too. That way I will be able to remove it if I want to look in the back glass. And yes, it goes on the outside.
thank you everyone for the kind words.
i know the background goes on the back.
but i reach my arm in the back to use my magnet scraper. it would be a pain to take a roll up background on and off. maybe ill try and rig some thing up.
my lfs is going out of business. 20 years in business and hes going out so with the percent off going up each week and a 70 gallon reef with lots of rock at the store, im about to go on a LR buying spree!
i need some for my new pico and maybe more for this.
