This is a lollipop tunicate, I picked it up from Dave at Atlantis Aquariums. It is housed in my non-photo tank in my office.

That is really unique. It is amazing all the things that are out there that we never even see.
Good luck!

some of my favorite things are nonphoto. just dont have the time to keep them. you are so fortunate that you get to enjoy these on a daily basis.

looks great.

Does a tunicate that size require extra feedings or will it do well in an established tank with healthy rock, microorganisms,.refugium, etc.

not real knowledgeable about tunicates but since they are filter feeders and not photosynthetic it is very likely that they require more than the average reef tank can provide. but luckily susans tanks and her husbandry are not average :)

They do require lots of feeding, I feed them many times a day and do water changes every couple of days. I can do this easily because it is only a 30 gal cube. I feed fauna marine, cyclopeeze, live rotifers, DT's live phyto.

This coral is already showing new growth, just hope I can keep it going because it is the coolest coral I have.

It would be awesome if we could cut a piece and grow it! Bill and I have talked about fragging it.

Dave, I am available any time today to pick up the lobo

it's not a coral ;)

I've never seen anyone keep this species of Tunicate/Ascidian/Sea Squirt alive for very long.

That does not surprise me, everything I put in this non-photo tank has a bad rep. for not surviving long. My husband calls it the tank of death.
