So here it is below. Not sure of the species. It is an encrusting species, almost looks like a cyphastrea, only one of the species with big polyps like the meteor shower (then again I am an SPS guy). Check out the polyps on the close up. Astreapora maybe? Cheers.
The store was not sure what it was, and the good thing is it was around for quite a while so it should he hardy. Some store got a piece about 4x's the size of mine.
Maybe leptastrea, I am not thinking goni (at least I hope) because I could have bought 5 goni colonies for the price of this small colony!
Think the base is starting to go more pink with red and yellow polyps.
Looks like Leptastrea to me. And a really nice one at that. Goniopora is not the only coral with 24 tentacles. That's just how it's differentiated from Alveopora.
The colony was about 6" x 8" in size. My piece illustrated is maybe 5" x 3 ". The store had this piece for quite some time.

I had an encrusting species that looked similar to this. It was a flourescent green, though i believe its polyps were spread further apart. I think the store had it labled as a encrusting pagoda??? It was a while back.. anyone heard of that before?..
