What I saw before must've been misidentified, and havent seen a picture as clear and closeup as yours, The more I look at it and some of polyps retracting it sure does look like a T. peltata. Take a look at this 250 and tell us what you think. http://www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/html/301-400/Species pages/356.htm
Some of the coralites you can kinda see under the tissue in your pic is almost a dead ringer for the peltata's skeleton.
Hey Justin, that link is closer than anything I have found. Turbinaria peltata - if so I a thinking it a little more uniquire than the average Turbinaria!
Also kinda makes sense becuase this piece was plucked from the Austrialia LPS tank at the store originally, and Aims indicates the coral is native to that area.
Now if it tables/teirs like that pic in the link - well that would be sweeeet Thanks man.

Ive only seen it a few times but like I mentioned not as in close detail, and not knowing all the goni morphs personally, just accepted it and moved on.
But a tubinaria like that? Uncommon indeed! Take care of that lil booger, I can see the waiting list forming as we speak:smokin:
