it does look favia-ish... it almost looks like a hybrid, but I know thatcan't be true, but judging by the polyp formation and the way they are touching, it's an acan of some assortment, very nice find
yeah, it looks a lot like something that I've got....I've never been able to nail down an I'd....it was sold to me a favia...but it's for sure not one, as the poylps share coralite walls with no valley between..I've had it Ided as anything from micro to some kind of favities...I'm glad to see yours...I've had my piece for two years and yours is the first that I've seen besides mine with the intense orange and bright green centers..
Here is a closeup of what the coralite structure looks like on mine..
ive got a coral that has the same coralite structure and after careful ID from a few different sites we we able to determine it wasnt an acan but more likely a favia or some type of micro.
Have you had any problems keeping the color to it. I haven't had any problems keeping mine, but I've fragged it a couple of times, and so far nobody I've given frags to seems to be able to keep the bright orange to it.
I just took some new pictures the other night, and had to post this one. It was right after all the daytime lights when out and the tank just has two 24W Actinic plus T-5 bulbs on....
Testhead1313 that looks like the exact color mine was when it first came in...almost more red than orange. I've increased the lighting on the coral a couple of times and each time it's gone more orange....but man that is a nice pic..with all the green showing....almost anytime I try to take a pic when it's like that the pic comes out all blurry.
