I am always surprised when people on this board go so far overboard , why I havenââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t learned by now I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t know. While I am not in favor of dying corals I think that the reaction to this is just comical. How many children are on this board? I just wonder if the people here that are ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œsaving the worldââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ from bad Ebayers spend the same time and passion with your kids and their homework or with other causes such as abortion, child abuse, politics, or battered women.

When I first got re-started in this hobby I was amazed at the knowledge I could get from this board, but I felt if I posted something I would get flamed for doing something horrible, like putting a Manderin in a new tank.(admittedly a wrong thing to do, but doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t require three pages a flaming.

Anyway I thought I would finally throw my feelings out there.

P.S.
While I am not religious I am considerate of others, in fact who wouldnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t mind someone praying for them.

Thank you for writing eBay's SafeHarbor Department about a listing or seller you would like us to investigate for fraudulent activity. We are concerned about this type of activity and want to assure you that we will review your report as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.

Due to privacy concerns, we will not keep you informed about the status of our investigation. While you will only receive this acknowledgement of the receipt of your report, please be assured that we will thoroughly review the situation.

This is the response, frankly, it appears to be a polite dodge more than anything. If there was truly going to be an "investigation" they would turn to me asking for proof of dyeing. Perhaps the item will be pulled, we'll see.

I woudlnt worry about that. Its the standard Ebay safe harbor responce. You can send them a recipe for chicken soup, and you get that back. Its the "we recieved your email, but dont have time for it yet"

like i said ebay is good and has frauds shut down usualy within a day they just dont have time to write each and every one of us

problom is to many people consider coral a plant or somthing not alive and dont understand much about it. that is oone reason i think people like him arnt shut down instantly is the ebay dude sees coral and he goes " who would pay that muchfor a pretty rock"

WEll, I hink some people flame or overreact because they are tired of telling people the same thing over and over again.

There are so many 'newbie' mistakes that could be avoided if the person just asks or lestins before doing it, but instead they do it, then ask why it didn't work.

I think ratfink has a point. Althought I hold distain for people like this ebay seller I dont advocate giving out personal information LIKE HIS PHONE NUMBER and pushing the issue over the edge. He is wrong, we all understand and acknowledge that fact but two wrongs dont make a right. Its very cliche but so true. Im asking everyone to not harrass this man and his family because in the end there will be a reckoning for his sins and crimes.

dying a coral isnt fraud. In fact they dye fish too. However if he's selling it as natural then his auction should closed by ebay. You shoulda made ebay aware and I agree with Steve posting his personal info was not cool.

what the guy is doing is wrong and is fraud by not telling what he is really selling.

all i did was pass info from his registar on to you so if any one cared to report them he could. perfectly legal since it is required by law that the info is publicly availiable. its called a whois search. anyways im sick and have nothing better to do :P

ehh i wont buy from him and thats all that matters :P

goda, I agree with you thats he is wrong and dishonest (see my post on page 4). I just dont agree with taking the arguement to his door step (literally). Simply because information is available doesnt make it the right thing to do...and that what this issue (in general) is all about.

The best part of all of this was the seller's response. It is non sensical and written as if the individual barely completed grade school. With that kind of ignorance, we should all give up on this subject and this seller and move on to areas where we could make a difference. Everyone has been warned about him and hopefully readers and newbies, like myself, will heed the advice.

I think his personal info needs to be removed. Come on people, that is pushing it.

I do not agree with dying the coral, however to this guy's only defense, who knows what kind of situation he might be in right now.

Just some food for thought. :)
