Checking parameters?

How often should I be checking my parameters?

Every day?
Every other day?
Every week?

Thanks in advance!

I think that kind of depends on how old your tank is, do you have corals, if so are they sps, lps, etc.

Tell us about your tank.

I have a M60 fluval 24 gallon AIO tank. It has been running for almost 3 months now and I have mostly LPS corals and 1 small setosa frag. I have been checking parameters every 3 days and the last month they have been stable. Except for a nitrate spike I had last week.

How comfortable are you that all your parameters are now, and will in the future, be stable?

Check frequently at first and then less frequently as you get comfortable, start out doing it every day, then every other day, then once a week.

I had a friend who was so paranoid about water quality and the potential for something going wrong that he checked his parameters every day for years! On the other hand, I'm pretty comfortable that I have things under control and would probably see an issue if it happened, that I test every month. And that's mostly to make sure my dosing pumps are dosing at the proper levels. As corals and coraline algae develop and get bigger, they use more Ca and alk, so I need to stay in touch with the demand.

That size tank and only having LPS, you will not see any change for a long time. I would just check alk and cal once a week if you want to. If you're doing weekly/bi-weekly water changes too, that'll take care of any small amounts of cal/alk that is being used.
