Cheep T5 ballast

no, not all t5 ballast is HO.
programmed start ballasts are the best.
i wont use any instant start ballast like the workhorse, it will burn out the bulb faster.
programmed start ballast usually run about $40

The Advance T5 HO ballasts are compatible and like the other poster stated, about 40 dollars for a dual (54 watt x 2) and under 60 dollars for a quad (54 watt X 4).

But I do think that some of the Workhorse ballasts are also the proper type for T5 HO but not all of the models ... and there are a lot of Workhorse models. I could be wrong though, I dont use them.

So if the ballasts are 54 watt x 2, does that mean they can't fire 2 24 watt bulbs?

sunlight supply uses these in some of there ho fixtures this one for the 4 x 24 watt - Fulham Workhorse 5...Product Description
