Day 11 Update:
I'm starting to see serious progress in my corals. I do want to emphasize that this could be attribute mostly to removing GFO from my system after stripping my phosphates. However, my phosphates were stripped due to cyano. Since chemiclean removed the cyano, I guess the progress is indirectly a result of using chemiclean.
I'm seeing daily growth in my monti cap, which had been stagnant for quite some time. My Tricolor nana is recovering very nicely. About 60% of the tissue was lost due to GFO and it is making daily progress in recoving. Polyp extension is looking better by the day.
My LPS corals are even recovering better than SPS. My Tyree Baby Breath Favia is looking healthy and plump, which had been looking stressed for months. Even Candy Canes are plumped like they have been in the past. The tissue on my Chalice is thick and rich with color. Same with the xmas Favia.
I want to add that I am not new at reefing. I have been known to grow really nice corals in the past in previous systems. For some reason, when I got back in the hobby things just have not been going good. The only thing I have been doing different is running GFO in an attempt to control cyano. I used to be stern on the fact that not running GFO was what cause my corals to look as healthy as they did. I am confident in saying that running excessive GFO to control cyano is much harder on your corals than running chemiclean.
