My Alkalinity seems to be consistently high: KH - 21. dKH

Tested New Saltwater KH at 11 dKH with Same test kit

Should I worry if everything else is ok?

Other Parmeters:
Ca - 475.
NO3 - 3.0 ppm
PO4 - 0.0
PH - 8.5
Temp- 76.5

550 Gallon Tank
125 Gallon Refugium - Reverse Lighting
60 Gallon Sump
Geo Calcium Reactor
Reeflow - Orca Skimmer
Instant Ocean Salt

Recently had the CO2 dialed up a little high and got saturation bubbles (ran that way for 12 hours or so - tank got little cloudy

If your Alk really shot up that high, you will likely have some losses. I wouldn't do anything really drastic, but a couple larger watch changes might be in order. Maybe, 50G per day for the next 3 days and see where your at, at that point. If you don't have the SW on hand, don't panic just start making some and doing changes as you go. I would probably start now before you start seeing all your coral die.

What kit are you using? I can't honestly believe it's 21dkh and you're not having many issues. That's around the range that calcium reactors output. Your calcium is a bit high too. Past 425-450 or so, calcium buildup on pumps and heaters drastically goes up.

So I guess the first step is verifying that you are really that high. If you are, I'd immediately shut down the calcium reactor and let the tank start coming down to normal levels (8-11ish). What all is in the tank (creature/coral wise)?

everything in the tank is ok? if so I turn off your co2 on your Calcium Reactor till it drops down around 8.0 to10.0 dkh keep adding your calcium as needed. then start slow on adding your co2 till it stays the same

R,

And yes all of my Tunzi's were pretty encrusted - I cleaned them all with Vinegar and new toothbrush about 3 days ago.

Mine seems to stay pretty high also without any I have been trying to get it to come down but about 15 is the lowest I have gotten it down too. I have decided the test just have to be running high so I have given up I did clean my reactor today and I am going to turn the co2 off for a few days my calcium is almost 500 it's crazy but I finally have purple and pink algea growing everywhere.

Hey on a different note, are you local to Columbus? Can you post some pics of your tank I'd love to see it? Welcome to CORA.
