does anyone know where to get a harem of cherub angelfish.

Juveniles are often available at the LFS, if money is an issue you could possibly create your own harem

I would just get them as small as I could and let them sort it out themselves. It works quite well as a way to form pairs.

If you've got a huge tank , it doesn't matter so much - but in a 55g, I'd make sure I found juveniles. Juveniles can be identified by being about 1 inch or less from tip of nose to end of tail and being irresistibly cute As long as the other fish are juveniles, one fish can be an adult and it will assume the male role

Are you saying they start out as females or are neither male nor female in the beginning?

For the record they are protogynous hermaphrodites, changing female to male. They start out female first.
